How I TRUFF Contest
The feta pasta recipe, quesadilla hack, and more are all we are seeing on our FYP.
What's next?!
Starting on Monday, March 15, TRUFF will be hosting a TikTok contest where we are challenging foodie TikTok to come up with the next viral food trend, using TRUFF. The winner of the contest will win $10,000. TRUFF will also match the $10,000 with a donation to Whole Foods’ Whole Planet Foundation, which helps alleviate poverty.
How can you win? It’s simple:
Show us how you TRUFF. Create a dish that you think will be the next viral food trend, using any of our TRUFF products (hot sauce, pasta sauce or mayonnaise).
Get discovered. Use the hashtag #HOWITRUFFContest and TRUFF’s official music.
On April 15th, 2021, the team at TRUFF will choose five of their favorite videos and feature them on the TRUFF TikTok page (@sauce).
Then, it’s in the public’s hands: the video with the most likes on the final date of April 30th, 2021 will be the winner of the $10,000 prize.
Founded in 2005, Whole Planet Foundation is a Whole Foods Market foundation that funds poverty alleviation worldwide where the company sources products.
The nonprofit’s mission is to empower the world’s poorest people with microcredit and the chance to create or expand a home-based business and lift themselves and their families out of poverty. As of December 2020, Whole Planet Foundation is alleviating poverty through microfinance partners in the United States and 76 other countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. To date, the nonprofit has disbursed $91 million dollars through microlending partners worldwide, funding 4.8 million microloans and over 25 million opportunities for a better life for microentrepreneurs and their family members.

- JUDGING: The evaluation of Submissions will consist of two (2) phases:
- PHASE 1, constituting an “Initial Review”, by which five (5) Finalists are selected by the independent judges;
- PHASE 2, by which, among other things, a public, online vote is conducted and, thereafter, it is determined which one (1) Finalist is the grand prize winner (the “Grand Prize Winner”).
PHASE 1: All Submissions will be initially reviewed by independent judges for compliance with these Official Rules (including the Submission requirements). Thereafter, the independent judges will “score” each of the Submissions then deemed eligible, based on the following criteria:
- Creativity/originality of submission (33%)
- Quality of video and sound (33%)
- Unique use of TRUFF in the recipe (34%)
Each Submission will, for each of the above-described criteria, be scored by the independent judges with a raw score between 1-5 (with 5 being the highest). For each Submission, after a (1-5) score has been determined for each criterion, each raw score will be “weighted”, taking into account the relative percentages shown above (in parentheses, next to each criterion). The “total score” for each scored Submission will be the total score of all of the above criteria (taking into account the above-described “weighting”). The five (5) Submissions having the highest “total score” will be deemed a “Finalist”.
Finalists will not be notified and will not receive any prize for merely being selected as a Finalist. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to select fewer than five (5) Finalists (if, for example but without limitation, an insufficient number of eligible Submissions are received).
NOTE: In the event of a tie, an additional judge will score each tied Submission (pursuant to the procedures described above) and the Submission with the highest total score pursuant to that subsequent scoring will proceed to Phase 2.

In the event the Sponsor cannot reach a potential Finalist, a potential Finalist does not respond by the date indicated within such notification, or if it is determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion, that a potential Finalist is not eligible in accordance with these Official Rules, such potential Finalist will be disqualified (without compensation of any kind) and the next alternate Finalist will be the next Submission with the highest score. In the event the Entrant is under the age of eighteen (18) the Finalist must provide the email address of the Parent/Legal Guardian.
If the Finalist notification is returned as unclaimed or undeliverable, or if any Finalist is found to be ineligible, or if any Finalist has not complied with these Official Rules, such Finalist will be disqualified and another Finalist may be selected.
PHASE 2: After the Finalists have been determined, as described herein or in additional communications sent by Sponsor during Phase 2, the Sponsor will upload the Finalists’ videos to @sauce’s TikTok channel which the public will be able to visit to vote for their favorite Finalist Submission. All eligible Finalist videos will be uploaded to the Website by April 20, 2021. Sponsor is not responsible for any technical and/or quality issues of any video uploaded to the Website, it being understood that the video displayed as the Finalist Submission on the Website may differ from what was submitted by the Finalist due to technical limitations or other reasons. Videos will be attributed based on the official names of the respective Contestant (relating to each Finalist Submission). The videos will be displayed in a format/pattern/sequence of Sponsor’s sole choosing, and may be rotated one or more times during the Public Voting Period (defined below).
